N Gauge Trains - Many Good Reasons For Owning One

N gauge trains were launched in the 1920's and became very popular in the 1960's and are presently the second most popular train on the market. Second only to HO scale.

Companies such as Bachman and Lionel have always made the N gauge trains available with tons of accessories to support them.

And it is not without good reason that they are so popular.

Japan was a market that drove the sales of the N gauge trains as homes are so expensive. Wanting to use the minimum amount of space possible, but still wanting a size that was pleasant to the eye, the N gauge was the obvious choice.

America and Australia though took to the N gauge trains much slower as space was much more abundant.

N gauge trains vary in scale sometimes, but they virtually always run on 9 millimeter tracks. The "N" in N gauge comes from the "Nine" in nine millimeters. The scale does change in various countries from 1:148 to 1:160 depending on which country you buy from.

One of the other reasons that N gauge is so popular is that it is so readily available, both online and offline. There really is such an abundance of good quality highly detailed scenery and accessories. Not to mention the trains!

Because the N gauge trains are lighter as well, users can run longer trains and they still move ok with the power supplies.

If you are interested in having exhibits or mobile models, then you should really consider N gauge trains as their smaller size makes them easier to ship around.

Scenery is also easy to buy and the quality is of the same high standard that has become part of N gauge train standards.

Talking of standards, they were the first scale to be standardized and voltage, size and track became regulated.

If you are looking for an all around model train kit, you can be rest assured with N Gauge Trains.
